Alimony, Child Support

My spouse wants me to sign a postnuptial agreement in which I waive any right to alimony or child support (we have two young children). My spouse is employed and i am not. My spouse argues that because my parents have money, they should pay to support me and pay my share of child support. Leaving aside the question of whether I should consent to these terms, is a postnup in which one partner waives alimony and child support legally enforceable in NC?

Thanks.

You cannot waive child support in a post-nuptial agreement, but you can waive alimony. Regardless of the terms, before signing any post-nuptial agreement I would strongly urge that you consult with an attorney regarding the implications of the agreement.
