Child support and bonuses

How does a one time payment of 30k play into child support reconfiguration from one party and a 10k grant/8k from sold property from the other party. We are refiguring child support and have additional one time payments.

A one-time payment or irregular income is counted as income for child support purposes. It can be dealt with in 2 ways:

  1. The irregular income can be averaged or prorated over a period of time; or,

  2. The obligor (the parent paying child support) can pay a percentage of the irregular income that is equivalent to the percentage of his/her recurring income paid for child support.
