I was wondering if the plaintiff has to a NC resident to be eligible for file for divorce here? If the respondent is a NC resident, does the plaintiff has to be a NC resident too?
North Carolina can exercise jurisdiction so long as one party has lived in North Carolina for the six months preceding filing for divorce. It is fine to file here if your spouse has lived here for six months even though to do not.
