Alienation of affection/criminal conversation

My husband and I are working through a separation agreement. After almost 31 years of marraige and two years of unemployment, he had an affair. After I discovered this, he left with the intent to divorce and marry the other woman. She is an attorney here in NC, teaching specializing in ethics. If I name her in a suit alleging alienation of affection and criminal conversation, will this affect her professionally? Does being named in a lawsuit trigger any kind of investigation for an officer of the court? I realize she would face potential publicity issues but wonder if she would face any other consequences.
Thank you.

It is a civil claim so no investigation should follow. Though her profession will not be directly affected, the damage to her reputation could have an effect on her practice.
