In the event that she requests it it’s possible, but I do not think it would be very much or for very long…others may know more on this.

Depending on the difference in your income you may need to pay alimony, but it would not be a long term obligation. In short-term marriages it is less common that alimony is awarded and may not be awarded at all in your case.

My wife and i may be seperating. there is no physical abuse or adultury involved. we have been married for 3 years and we have no chidren. we also rent an apt. for under $500 monthly. Our vehicles are seperate (mines in my name and hers is in her name and they are both already paid for long ago actually prior to our marriage).

We have no property or land together, no house, and no children. I’m a well respected teacher and she’s a nursing assistant. i do make more money than she does. We talked about signing seperation papers that are mutual.

Will i have to pay alimony?
