How long do I have to collect arrears? He owes $44,000. + He works as a sub contractor so no wage withholding. We have been going to court every 3 months for 16 years now. My workers have never been of much help. Almost everything he owns is in his wifes name or her moms. I had heard I only have 5 years to collect what he owes me. Is that correct?

The statute of limitations is ten years so you have ten years to collect on any past due payment. But, if there is an order on arrears, you have ten years from the date of the order. The judgment for arrears may be enforced for ten years following the date it was entered, even if the arrearages included in the judgment accrued more than ten years prior to the date of execution of the judgment.
