# Can I terminate his health insurance?

I’ve been paying stbx’s health insurance through my employer for 8 months now. It will be open enrollment soon for 2010 - do I have to include him on the policy? It costs me $200 per month to keep insuring him. We do not have an agreement in place.

Legally you may remove him, however many companies will not allow you to remove your spouse unless you are divorced, have a separation agreement, or unless your spouse has acquired their own coverage.
