Child support using an attorney vs. not

Hello,
Is there a benefit to using an attorney to obtain child support vs. going directly through the county services? A friend told me that the payment amounts differs; however, that doesn’t really make sense since a standard calculator is used… please advise. TIA

There are a lot of reasons to use a privately retained attorney to obtain child support. Most importantly, with an attorney, you are going to get a level of care and concern and individualized service that just doesn’t exist when you are dealing with child support enforcement. There are also pros to using the agency such as the cost involved with the use of a private attorney and for the agency’s enforcement capabilities. It really depends on what your most important goals are.
