How do children from a previous marriage effect the divorce proceedings? My husband and I have been married for 10 years and he has raised my two children from the age of 2&3. Financially he has provided their insurance, health care, etc as well as has been the primary income source and I am worried that sicne they are not his kids that the distribution of property will be insufficient. WIll he be required to provide any support to me?
If your husband did not adopt your children, he has no child support obligation for them. You may however have a claim for alimony if you are the dependant spouse.
