I have been disabled for 7 years and was married the last three years. During our marriage my “living standard” did increase and I do depend on my husband’s support to make ends meet. Would I be intitled to alimony and for how long?

If you depended on your spouse’s income to provide for your needs during the marriage, you may be entitled to alimony. There are many factors that are considered when awarded. You may want to check out the statute, which is on this website. While the statutes do not spell out a time line for alimony, a rule of thumb is that alimony is awarded for half the length of the marriage.
