Divorce from bed and board

Dear drwilsontwo:

Greetings. No, technically your date of separation is the first day that either of you leave the marital residence. The Divorce from Bed and Board is a request for a judge to create a date of separation for you and your spouse. Best of luck.

The response posted above is based upon the limited factual information made available and is not intended as a full and complete response to the question. The only reliable manner to obtain complete and adequate legal advice is to consult with an attorney, fully explain your situation, and allow the attorney sufficient opportunity to research the applicable law and facts required to render an accurate opinion. The basic information provided above is intended as a public service but a full discussion with an attorney should be undertaken before taking any action.

Thanks for all of your help thus far. This forum is great.

One quick question… I know separation occurs after one person leaves the residence. But I filed for Divorce from Bed and Board in August and was told by my attorney that separation actually started then. Is this true?
