Divorce Summons Answer

I was recently served with divorce papers. It is an uncontested divorce and I would like to speed up the process as much as possible. I submitted an “answer” to the summons. however, I was wondering if it is possible to file an amended answer in order to add that I wish to immediately be calendared for trial? Is this possible and what would I need to do?

An amended answer is not necessary. Since you have filed an answer, presumably admitted all of the allegations for an absolute divorce, then it is ready to be scheduled for a court date.

You can file a notice of hearing in order to put the matter on the court calendar. Be sure to check with your county’s clerk office to see if there are any special local forms that must be filed in addition to the notice of hearing.
