I am moving to Massachusetts. Can I have the DVPO removed since she will be staying in NC? I assume the DVPO is in effect no matter what state we are in? The DVPO expires in November. I move before then, can i get my shotgun back from the sheriff or would I have to come back to NC to get it?
You will have to wait for the Order to expire.
I assume you mean I have to wait to get the gun back and not the move out of state. Could they ship it to me if I pay the shipping?
There is an application you may fill out to have your gun returned, but the restraining order will remain in effect until expiration.
