Erin, Do we need to wait for the status conference to schedule ED Mediation? I understand a discovery deadline will be set then, but what is stopping us from being a bit proactive in getting discovery requests infront of each other? Am I missing part of the picture?

Also, can my STBXW and I initiate and attend ED mediation without attorney’s present and prior to status confernce? I am just looking at ways to reduce costs of this process.

Felix

The mediation should be set at the initial pre-trial conference. You a your and your spouse may attend a private mediation without your attorneys if you both agree to do so.
