What is the normal amount an attorney charges for a divorce? The attorney I used for child support and custody first told me her fee was $100 now she says it’s $200.
Also, is it just a matter of completing the paperwork and the jude signing off or do you actually have to appear in court?

Each attorney varies on the charge for divorce. In most counties the attorney will have to appear in court on your behalf to have the judgment entered.

So the attorney goes and I don’t have to appear in court?

If your spouse does not file an answer which denies anything contained in the Complaint, and your attorney files a motion for summary judgment you do not have to appear in court. This is how many divorces are handled when folks hire an attorney.
