# Foreigner wishing for annulment/ Divorce in NC

I’m a foreigner and married to a guy from my country but he left me 4 years ago for someone else. Now I met this wonderful guy from NC and I want to marry him. Can I get an annulment or divorce here in NC?

Nothing in your post indicates that you have grounds to obtain an annulment, but as long as you have lived here for 6 months, you can file for [divorce](http://www.rosen.com/divorce-nc/) in North Carolina.
