My husband pays the bills at our home I got in the ED papers. Will he be able to claim me on his taxes next year? I have to file taxes on the alimony he gives me and need to know if he can do this?
No he cannot claim you as a dependent, but may write off the mortgage interest he pays on the home. Alimony is normally taxable to the recipient but it may not be, depending on what your order or agreement says.
