How long should I give my ex wife to answer some interrogatories? Our court date is on May 5 and I sent her the request about two weeks ago. It will be less than 30 days. Will this result in a continuance request, or have I given them enough time? They were simeple questions, nothing relaly that difficult to have to prove or that would take time to gather very much paperwork from financial records.

Your wife has 30 days to respond to your discovery request, and most often the response comes in the form of a request for an additional 30 days to respond. Outstanding discovery can be grounds for a court to grant a continuance, however there is no guarantee, especially if the judge finds that you had ample time to complete discovery in advance of trial.
