What are these papers people speak of? What else has to be signed, besides the signature confirmation sheet on the certified mail, when you are served the complaint?

My husband has filed for absolute Divorce based on one year of separation . I have signed the papers and given it back to him .He has told me the court hearing is on Feb 27th . Is there a way for me to find out what is the status of the case and when exactly it will be taken up by court for decision . I do not think his lawyer is bound to answer my queries if I directly contact them . So how do i know what is the case status and when court will give the decision ?
