Dear javaking66:

Greetings. It is your obligation to send him a copy of the divorce decree with a certificate of service attached to it. Best of luck.

The response posted above is based upon the limited factual information made available and is not intended as a full and complete response to the question. The only reliable manner to obtain complete and adequate legal advice is to consult with an attorney, fully explain your situation, and allow the attorney sufficient opportunity to research the applicable law and facts required to render an accurate opinion. The basic information provided above is intended as a public service but a full discussion with an attorney should be undertaken before taking any action.

Hi,
I was thinking of taking the “do it yourself” divorce route. I have a question with regards to the decree.

My husband does not live in USA anymore. After the divorce decree has been issued. What is the process for him to get the decree?
Does the court mail it to him or Do I have to send it to him or He has apply to the court to get an original decree?

Would be highly obliged if you can reply at your earliest.

Thanks,
