# Marriage after divorce decree

As long as you have the absolute divorce, you do not have to wait to marry again. Be careful with the dates though. My mother was remarried in a big church ceremony but had to go back and to the justice of the peace three days later due to her divorce not being final before the ceremony. So the date that she had her wedding is not the date on her marriage certificate.

My North Carolina divorce will be final on the 28th of September. My question is, Do I have to wait to marry again after the divorce decree.
