If there is a new boyfriend or girlfriend living with an ex…

What are the financial responsibilities of the non-custodial parent?

If the custodial parents new relationship does not work and they are using child support money to feed themselves as well does this affect anything?

If either parent remarries does that change child support?

A new boyfriend/girlfriend, living with a boyfriend/girlfriend, or remarriage will not affect child support. Child support is based on the incomes of only the biological parents - the income of the boyfriend/girlfriend or spouse is not considered. The financial responsibilities of the non-custodial parent would remain the same according to the current child support worksheet and order.

Nothing changes regardless of what the parent receiving child support spends it on.
