Own Property Separately

Newly Married, no kids. I had purchased a home when I was unmarried. My name is the only name on the deed and mortgage. My husband plans on buying a new property with only his name on the deed and mortgage, and was told to get a free trader agreement. Will this only protect future homes we buy in our marriage or do I need protection for the house I bought prior to marriage?

The free trader agreement will protect future real property purchases.

To protect your current home that you bought before the date of marriage, you will need a separation agreement clearly stating that this is your sole and separate property free of your husband’s right, title, claim, or interest.
