Property rights?

Sorry for the delay.

Nope, nothing is automatic. If you are paying all of the bills you will be entitled to some adjustments at the time of division of the house but you must still either agree on how to divide it or have a court do it for you.

The response posted above is based upon the limited factual information made available and is not intended as a full and complete response to the question. The only reliable manner to obtain complete and adequate legal advice is to consult with an attorney, fully explain your situation, and allow the attorney sufficient opportunity to research the applicable law and facts required to render an accurate opinion. The basic information provided above is intended as a public service but a full discussion with an attorney should be undertaken before taking any action.

if a spouse leaves the marital home of their own consent, and the remaining spouse is left responsible for all debts related to the home, ie, property taxes, upkeep, mortgage payments, etc., after a period of time does the home and the land the home is on become the sole property of the remaining spouse? if so, what is the time frame, and does this apply in union county?

p.s. was wondering why i have had no response to my earlier post…

thanks!
