Legally that language should be sufficient, however some mortgage companies will require a free trader agreement in order to allow you to purchase the property in your own name.

I have been seperated for a little under 9 months. My soon to be ex-wife and I wrote up a seperation agreement ourselves, had it notorized and filed it with the county. In the agreement we ironed out all assets (we really didn’t have any). She left the marital residence in January and in July we sold it. She signed off on all paperwork to close on that property. In our agreement there is a line stating that we both have the right to contract seperate from one another. I am currently looking a purchasing a home with a friend and want to make sure my soon to be ex will not be attached to the property in any way. I have listed the line from the agreement below. Any help would be appreciated!!

6.Right To Contract. Both Husband and Wife shall have the right to contract and to be fully contracted with, independently of the other, as fully and to all intents and purposes as if they had never been married.
