Question about a seperation

Hi all, after 2 years, my wife and I have decided to go our separate ways. I moved out of the house toward the middle of October (November 30th, today). We signed a paper (handwritten by us) agreeing on the separation and to help out, I have agreed to give her a certain amount of money per pay check. We have no children and no assets or shared bills. Am I legally separated now? When exactly is a 3rd party needed to help? Money is extremely tight so we’re trying to go the easy, painless way of doing this. Thank you!

Legal separation begins when you start living in separate residences. You can certainly agree to any terms you’d like with out hiring an attorney, just know that the terms of a separation agreement are binding.
