Second Opinion

Because of a geographic distance, I don’t have the opportunity to meet with my divorce attorney that often. My divorce is also being handled in a very rural location, where there aren’t many lawyers to choose from. Getting to the point, I don’t know if I have a good lawyer or not ? I feel like Im being taken to the bank without any results. Trust is a concern. When going through a divorce is it uncommon for someone to seek a second opinion on how the primary attorney is handling the case ? I’ve been giving serious consideration into firing my attorney - but also realize this uncomfortable may be a result of the stress etc.

Is it uncommon to hire an attorney to review what’s been happening with my case ?

Second opinions are not uncommon; you can certainly have consultations with other attorneys despite your current representation. It is important that you trust your attorney, if you are unhappy with your representation I would suggest consulting with another attorney.
