If you use marital assets to purchase the home, then he will have an interest in the marital value in the home, however that does not necessarily mean you will have to sell the home. You may be able to offset the value of his house against the value of your house.

I have been separated for 1 1/2 years and I want to buy a home. Will I have to divide it with him at the end of my divorce? He still lives in our home that we both bought while together. Thank you for your response.
