Separation agreement and equitable distribution

My girlfriends employer will not drop her husband from medical insurance without a separation agreement. However, they have not decided what to do about equitable distribution.

Can you have a separation agreement that covers everything such as child custody, child support, alimony, retirement plans, household goods, etc…, but does not cover their vehicles and real estate?

A separation agreement can determine any number of issues, but it is best to allocate all of the property at once in order to ensure the distribution is complete.
