My husband of 20 years and I are separated. He started dating a woman roughly 2 weeks after he moved out… They are in an intimate relationship… while I could care less what he does anymore, a friend going through the same situation tells me that in NC this is still considered adultery because we are still legally married.

Any guidance would be helpful as I need any edge I can get - a simple divorce has turned ugly as he is being VERY greedy.

Thank you!

It is a crime to have sex with a person that is married to someone else. It does not impact [alimony](http://www.rosen.com/alimony-nav/) in the same way as having an affair prior to the separation does.
