Your time away in the military will count towards the year separation if you stopped living together at the point you were deployed and at least one of you expressed that this separation be permanent. Regardless under NC law, you will need to wait the year.

i’m in the military and i have been deployed for 6 months now. does that time away count as being seperated. and also because i’m stationed in nc do i really have to wait the year to get divorced or can i just file. i just think it’s rediculous to be seperated for a year before you file. is there anyway around this or do i have to file out of the state
