What is considered contact?

#1

Are you asking about abandonment of the marriage or the child?

Abandonment of the marriage: “Abandonment occurs when a spouse brings cohabitation to an end without justification, without the consent of the other spouse, and without the intent of renewing cohabitation. All three of these elements must be proved by the spouse seeking to show the other spouse’s abandonment.”

Abandoment of the child: This would be if the parent has no contact or is not finacially responsible for the child.

In a case of abandonment, does internet contact and cell phone contact with minor children without contact with the custodial parent constitute contact? In other words if the parent calls on the child’s cell phone but never talks or contacts the parent, is that abandonment?
