Wrong state as defendant

I have just been served with a complaint for absolute divorce from my husband who lives in NC.

The document alleges that I am a citizen of Fayette County, GA.

I live in Florida and the registered letter was sent to me in Florida. I have lived here since we separated a year ago.

Why would he give the wrong state? Does it have any impact saying that I’m in Georgia rather than Florida?

How do I respond?

You may file an answer which denies his allegation that you live in Florida and state your correct residence. I have no idea why your ex would have included the wrong state as there is no advantage in doing so.
