My ex-husband started sleeping with someone about 2 months after we separated. Reading the approved bill in the NC senate, does this mean I cannot bring a claim of criminal conversation against his lover anymore?
I should also say that this post-separation affair started over a year ago. Does the law change still affect me?
The law clarifying procedures for alienation of affection and criminal conversation states that post separation behavior occurring after October 1, 2009 cannot be used as a basis for a claim, only as corroborating evidence. In your case the law does not affect you as the action took place prior to the law’s effective date.
