Filing Myself

Oh and I recently attended one of your firms seminars, and thought that it would be okay for me to file - since their is not division of property…to get the absolute divorce.

By the way, your firm is very very accomodating to assist people going through this- the website, the seminars, etc. It gives me a sense of comfort, so IF for some reason something changes - I am certain that any lawyer that I would condsider would be from your firm. Thank you.

Dear casporter:

Greetings. No, you do not file the judgment. Yes, you also provide the verification, but you cannot file the notice of hearing until after she is served. Good luck.

The response posted above is based upon the limited factual information made available and is not intended as a full and complete response to the question. The only reliable manner to obtain complete and adequate legal advice is to consult with an attorney, fully explain your situation, and allow the attorney sufficient opportunity to research the applicable law and facts required to render an accurate opinion. The basic information provided above is intended as a public service but a full discussion with an attorney should be undertaken before taking any action.

We have no children, there is no property distribution (we’ve already divided up the property), no claim for alimony support - so when I go forward to file, if you could reconfirm - upon filling out all the forms I need to file with the Clerk of Courts of my County the COMPLAINT, the SUMMONS, the JUDGMENT, and the copies of these documents, as well as all the documentation with regard to serving my spouse - is this correct?

Wouldn’t I also provide the Verification, Notice of Hearing or are these produced for the actual Summary hearing?

And because I am not pursuing anything elses is it correct that I do not need to use the Cover Sheet?
