Foreclosure question


My husband and I have been separated for a few months now. He has recently decided to move to WI temporarily because of some mental health related issues. We currently have property and I am on the deed but not on the mortgage. If I am no longer able to make payments and the house goes into foreclosure or short sell what effect will that have on my credit if I am not on the loan? Is there anything I can do to protect my credit? He is not interested in any quick claim deeds and feels if there is a negative effect from the house it should be felt by both of us.
