Marriage Date

Your friend should file an answer alleging the correct date of marriage, when the matter is set for hearing, he should bring a copy of his marriage license to prove the date to the court. When the court issues the Judgment of Absolute divorce, the correct date will included in the Divorce Judgment.

My friend was served with divorce papers. His soon-to-be ex filed for the divorce. On the line that states they were married on or about a certain date she has the wrong date…it’s off by more than a year. Does he need to have her re-file the papers with the correct date or is the date that is notarized on the papers ok?
