I am currently stationed in Virginia, while my wife is staying in North Carolina, the state which I was born and raised in. Would it be easier for me to file for my divorce in North Carolina where I am a “resident” or Virginia where I am a “military non-resident”?

A little more information.
How long have you been in another state? 6 mo or more?
Do you own a home in NC?
Have you talked with Base Legal or Your Command Legal Officer?
You can file in NC by submitting to the jurisdiction here. It may be easier to file in the county in which she lives and get service, etc. on her locally. The laws for divorce are different in Virginia, and I cannot advise you on VA law. It really depends on where you are eligible to file and whether you will find any ease filing here versus in VA.
