I traded in my older car for a new one recently. I paid for the old one myself and it was paid in full. The new car title is in my name and only I use it. It is my only means of transportation and I have 2 kid’s. I there any chance the spouse can take my car or if he tries to damage it, should I call the police? I am willing to take less then half for the house when it sells as it is on an equity loan so I will end up paying for it.
If you purchased the car after the date of separation, it is your separate property.
