I would like to know what I need to provide in court, as I’ve been outside the house for at least one year during the divorce paperwork. For example, If I decide to live with a friend, can I have a contract with them, or is it required to have an agreement with the landlord? Money orders?
For absolute divorce purposes, you do not need to produce any documents to prove when you separated or that you have been living separate and apart, unless the date of separation is contested.
You will need to be able to truthfully testify in court as to the date of separation. If the other side does not contest this, nothing beyond your truthful testimony needs to be presented.
