Purchasing a house during seperation

Is there anything stopping me from purchasing a house during separation? We have a separation papers written up and everything has been divided and agreed on and signed.

If you have a fully executed separation agreement that fully handles equitable distribution (property division), then you can buy a house prior to the absolute divorce. It would not be advisable to buy a house during the separation period without an equitable distribution court order or a separation agreement that fully handles equitable distribution.
