If your STBX is successful in pressing a claim for alimony and/or PSS, an award of attorney’s fees is permissible (but not guaranteed) for getting the award of alimony/PSS. From what I’ve been told, attorney’s fees are not awarded in ED, or for issues with children.
Attorney’s fees may be awarded, in the judge’s discretion, to a dependant spouse who in acting in good faith in seeking post-separation support, alimony, child custody and child support, if he/she cannot sustain themselves through the pendency of the action.
