If an individual was determined to the dependent spouse in a consent order for post separation support, will that determination carry over to the decision on alimony or will the question whether the individual requesting alimony is the dependent spouse need to determined again?
A post-separation support award is non-prejudicial. All issues, including whether a spouse is dependent, will have to be re-argued and determined again by the court during the alimony trial.
