During the previous year economical conditions have reversed the role of the dependent spouses. How does this play into the calculation of alimony? And If either spouse is not dependent on another for support? How about if the dependent spouse is unemployed and when they obtain a job it will probably not be near the same pay as before?
Alimony is determined on a case by case basis looking at the most recent years of the marriage. If neither spouse is dependant upon the other at the time of separation, the court will not find a dependant and supporting spouse and no alimony will be ordered.
