Is alimony fixed at the time of a signed separation or can it be changed if circumstances/finances change after the agreement?
It depends. Alimony can be modifiable or non-modifiable. it depends on how the agreement is drafted. If alimony is put in a court order, it will be modifiable but a party will have to show a change in circumstances to warrant a modification of alimony.
