I have been separated for 10 months with no significant progress toward a SA. I want to set up my minor child and 2 adult children as beneficiaries to my life insurance. This is a term life insurance policy that I have acquired and continue to pay for. My wife was very insistent that I was not able to legally change the beneficiary of life insurance without the spouse’s consent. Am I misunderstanding my rights to make this change without her approval?
