Bi-polar

Is there any sort of law restricting sole custody to one parent if there is a history of bi-polar disorder with that parent? She is going through a divorce and now will be the only “responsible” adult responsible for the primary care of my 3 step-kids all under the age of 10.

~Thanks

No, custody cases are determined on a case by case basis. The judge will certainly consider mental illness as part of making a ruling in the best interests of the children, but a diagnosis alone is not enough for a custody determination.
