Buying her half

We bought our house about 3 1/2 years ago and have very little equity built up. Both of our names are on the deed but mine is the only one on the mortgage. How difficult would it be to buy out her half and me keep the house? Her credit is totally trashed so there is no way she could even attempt to buy out my half.

Your solution would not be that difficult. It is really just a matter of getting her to come to an agreement that you will take over the house and determine how much, if any, equity you will give her either out of the house or through some other means. Buying someone’s interest out of the house is not an uncommon result in divorce cases.
