Child Support "backpay"?

Child support will be paid before, during and after divorce. As soon as you separate, a motion can be filed for child support. It is usually retroactive to the date of the motion filed. This is all up to the judge to decide if you can not agree between yourselves about child support and visitation.

Go to your local Child support office immediatly to get it started …

Disbelief in the system

Here in NC, Iwas told by a few secretaries of Lawyers that NC does not make you pay child support until your divorce is final. Is this true? If this is true, will backpay support be in effect. Of course if the kids needs things my ex will provide, or myself, but in general, does backpay apply if we wait the year out with regards to being separated?
