Do stepchildren factor into the child support calculation on Worksheet C?
Here is the situation:
My ex-husband and I split custody of our 2 biological children. My ex has his girlfriend and 2 of her children living with him. I have no idea if their father pays child support. I am recently remarried and my new husband has 1 child. My ex thinks that his girlfriend’s 2 kids and my step-daughter should be factored into the calculation; I think that it should only be biological children.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
No, stepchildren are not considered in child support worksheets. The section for “responsibility for other children” is only for a parent’s biological or adopted children.
